Volotea installing Immfly inflight wi-fi systems

April 26, 2016 – Since early March, Spanish low-cost airline, Volotea, has been installing Immfly’s onboard wi-fi solution in its aircraft. Volotea is in the process of switching its aircraft from Boeing to Airbus, with its B717-200s set to be replaced by A319-100s, and the digital platform will be progressively installed in all of its A319 fleet. More information on this partnership will be announced in July, when service flights with Immfly onboard go public.

Immfly has also revealed that five companies based in Europe – and LATAM – have agreed to partner the in-flight platform.

Volotea passengers will be able to use their personal mobile devices to connect to an onboard wi-fi network. Once connected, they can enjoy a variety of content, from newsfeeds and magazines to documentaries, kids channels, music and sports videos. Additionally, there are last minute deals available to passengers, both on-ground during the purchasing process and mid-flight for customers who decide to book activities and tickets before arriving at their destination.

According to Immfly, its on-board digital platforms can help airlines to strengthen their customer loyalty by increasing their “Net Promoter Scores” amongst passengers and encouraging the creation of new ancillary revenues through the sponsorship and e-commerce available on the platform.

Von Korff and Linz, co-founders of Immfly, have stated that their objective is to become “the travel industry’s favorite on-board monetization partner, reaching 100 million connected passengers by 2018”.

This internally developed service platform has been flying for more than one year onboard Iberia Express, and it will soon be made available in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian and German.
