September 23, 2015 – AviationGlass & Technology, a Dutch company specialized in the research, development and production of glass products for the aviation industry, has announced that it has received ISO9001:2008 certification. This certification permits the company to register for the aviation industry’s AS9100 standard, supported and used by the world’s leading aerospace companies throughout their supply chains. This latest certification adds to the Supplemental Type Certificate and Production Organization Approval issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in July this year, reinforcing AviationGlass & Technology’s position as a certified supplier of the global aviation industry.

The ISO 9001:2008 certificate was awarded by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), a leading global provider of independent assessment services with recognition from over 50 accreditation bodies. The independent audit examined the company’s processes as well as its organizational structure. With safety and reliability aspects critical to all stakeholders in aviation, this standard provides assurance and guidance on a range of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, management and continuous improvement.

John Rietveldt, AviationGlass & Technology’s CEO, commented, “This ISO9001:2008 certification is crucial as it allows us to pursue our registration to the AS9100 standard next year. AS9100 is a contractual requirement for the supplier base of aerospace OEMs, and with safety and quality top of mind, we are committed to delivering superior glass products for cabin interiors by operating in accordance with the industry’s best practices.

“ISO9001-2008 certification is a solid step forward in assuring the industry that we are fully focused on our customers and able to achieve continuous improvement. At the same time, it puts us firmly on the map as an approved global supplier to the aviation industry.”
